
The program vision “poor groups have the right to obtain financial and non-financial services with suitable cost, quality and continuity, which contributes to empowering community members and improving their income, reducing their poverty, and maintaining financial stability and economic security for low-income families in Upper Egypt.
The program provides financing for micro-projects in fields of animal and agricultural production, commercial services, and crafts. And it is keen to provide non-financial services to beneficiaries, including trainings on establishing and managing a successful small project. Technical training on veterinary care, and some professions such as hairdressers, in addition to providing technical support to customers through coaching sessions during monthly field follow-up visits.
The program values are (transparency - service recipients respect - respect for the interests of concerned parties - respect of law - inclusiveness - professionalism). The Association has a license from Financial Supervisory Authority number 1420 for 2015 - category "B". It applies internal control systems to maintain quality of performance, submits periodic reports and budgets to authorities, and adheres to all regulations issued by the Financial Supervisory Authority.
During 20 years, the issuance of loans amounted to about 390 million pounds to (25,235) clients through 8 microfinance offices affiliated with the Association in the governorates of Assiut, Sohag, Qena, and Luxor. In addition, 4,664 beneficiaries received non-financial services. The Association plans to reach a portfolio of 40 million pounds during the New Year to serve more poor and marginalized people and entrepreneurs.
